Why 2D-Coded?

2D Tubes by AutoGen only offers 2D-coded tubes. 2D tubes are permanently laser etched, 2D-code on the base, additionally, a 1D (linear barcode) and a Human-Readable Number on the side, and offer unequaled sample audit traceability, enabling sample tracking and data sharing between multiple users, labs, locations, and automation capabilities. Samples are processed and shipped all over the world. Everywhere those samples go, they may encounter a different identification and processing protocol. Not every location will have access to 2D rack scanners and barcode readers. Or, they simply have a process in place to double or triple verify a sample ID. We believe the best way to capture the critical barcode information on your critical samples is with 2D identification. This ensures that all samples are clearly identifiable at all times.

SAFE® 2D-Coded TUBES

Preserving your sample is critical. Whether you’re biobanking or storing compounds, tissues, or microorganisms, the SAFE® racks and 2D tubes features include:

  • Certified to meet IATA guidelines, meaning our tubes are tested to ensure your samples are SAFE® and secure during transportation, even under pressure.
  • Extensive testing – including the gravimetric leak test in accordance with IATA, CO₂ leak testing, nitrogen permeation testing at −180°C, and repeated open/close cycle leak tests – demonstrates consistently reliable sealing performance.
  • Co-molded thermal plastic elastomer compression seal in the SAFE® Screw Cap
  • Manufactured in ISO 8 cleanroom, certified free from DNA, DNase, RNase, endotoxin
  • SAFE® medical-grade polypropylene with low leachable and low extractable.
  • Laser-etched, 2D barcodes that are virtually impossible to remove make sample identification quick and easy.
  • Withstand temperatures as low as -196C and are ideally arrayed in a space-saving, automation and cryo-friendly SBS rack.

SAFE® 96 XT

Safe® 96 SBS Format, 2D-Coded Tubes with External Threads

Lower your storage and energy costs and prevent leaks and cross-contamination with the SAFE® 96 XT, 96 SBS Format Racks and Tubes.

These tube racks require 44-80% less space than other options on the market, as they are externally threaded, leading to a lower overall height. Streamlined freezing saves space and lowers your overall energy consumption and carbon footprint.

The tubes come with a patented thermo plastic elastomer gasket compression in the screw cap and external threads that achieve the best possible results in highly-demanding leak tests—certifying they will never leak. Plus, the external threads ensure none of your sample gets lost in the threading, and they allow the tubes to be as small as possible while maintaining their full working volume. This means you can store the largest possible volume of your critical sample in the least amount of storage space.

The tubes can be delivered pre-racked (capped or uncapped) or bulk. They are available as production sterile and can be customized with your organization’s name and capped in a large variety of colors.
