DNA Extraction from Saliva

We provide automated workflows for labs of all size and budgets, along with a choice selection of extraction methods based on the need. Our saliva extraction options provide you with the ability of processing 200μl – 4ml volumes at a time, up to 30 samples per run.

With the addition of the GeneFix™ DNA Saliva collection device from Isohelix to our portfolio, labs now have additional options for DNA collection and stabilization for saliva samples.

The GeneFix is an easy-to-use and highly economical DNA saliva collection device designed to preserve and stabilize DNA for up to 5 years. Saliva collections of up to 2 ml mixed with pre-filled stabilization buffer, form a complete working solution ready for DNA extraction. This device is suitable for field collection, home use, and clinic-based sampling.

The collector can be paired with one of AutoGen’s extraction workflows or your existing workflow, allowing labs to significantly lower operating costs when compared to other devices in the marketplace.

High Throughput DNA Extraction from Saliva

Throughput: Loads 1 – 30 samples directly onto the instrument
Chemistry: Customizable workflow incorporating proven and reliable precipitation-based chemistry while offering automated liquid handling from primary sample tubes to final DNA storage tubes
Additional workflows created for use with the economical and easy to use GeneFix™ DNA Saliva Collection device from Isohelix
Unique Features:
- Includes a single protocol for processing 1 – 4mls of a single Oragene® saliva sample
- Tracks and records barcodes throughout the process to preserve sample integrity

Throughput: Extracts 1 – 6 samples of 1-2ml saliva per run
Chemistry: Ultra-thin, polymer, membrane-based, bench-top system, that does not require centrifugation or vacuum
Additional workflows created for use with the economical and easy to use GeneFix™ DNA Saliva collection device from Isohelix.
Unique Features:
- Higher molecular weight due to gentle positive air pressure, minimizing shearing
- Multiple input racks add to daily throughput with checkerboard processing
